Welcome to Fairly Alarmed, a newsletter about embracing seasons as the guiding element of our lives.
It’s my mission with this newsletter to examine how we can better live in alignment with the seasons — creating ease and eliminating burnout. It’ll be a little bit of everything, and I’m excited to have you on this journey with me. Expect this to look like:
Deep dives into the zodiac seasons and four seasons of the year
Creative rituals to mark the passing of time
Explorations on burnout and creating alignment
About the name … “I’m fairly alarmed here,” is a quote uttered by the great Ian Malcom (aka this newsletter’s avatar) in Jurassic Park as he faces down a T. Rex. This quote has always stuck out to me because of the misalignment of tone with the situation at hand; it has given me absurd joy for 20+ years. Fairly Alarmed is my tribute to this; an examination into what I find could be better, recalibrated, and rethought.
About Me
Hey there! I’m Anna Beyerle Rosen, the writer of this fine newsletter. By day, I’m a brand strategist at a leading branding agency specializing in tech brands. In my other creative time, I’m often writing essays around creativity.
I consider myself a multipassionate creative who took a meandering approach to finding my day job in branding. There’s no one degree for this field, and I didn’t really know it existed as a career until well past my college graduation. It’s my personal mission to demystify how branding works, so more people can understand its strength and how it impacts our lives and businesses.
A few fun facts about me (because I love em):
I live in Memphis, Tennessee, and am a former resident of Denver, New York City, and Cleveland (among others)
Taylor Swift once commented on my Instagram photo
I can talk about personality tests all day long. I’m a:
9 wing 1 (Ennegram)
INFP (Meyers-Briggs)
High S/C (DISC)
Libra sun, Virgo moon, Leo rising (not really a personality test, but ya know)
