Welcome to Gemini season!
Good morning and welcome to Gemini season, y’all!
Gemini is the final astrological sign in our trio of spring signs, which means it’s time to wrap things up and start the movement toward summer (yep, it’s almost here). That means getting the metaphorical house in order; figuring out what you want to keep, and getting rid what is no longer is serving you.
In this newsletter, we’ll dive into what this season means, providing context as a tool for reflection. My goal with these zodiac season newsletters is to enable goal and intention setting that works in concert with the season, and not against it.
Taurus szn wrap up: entering into creation mode
Taurus season has come and gone, and brought a boost of energy that I needed — and you may have, too. It was a season around practical action, and for me, that means bringing realism to detail to many of my larger goals. There was also a lot that I let go of; shedding the layers of what I felt like I should be doing, but wasn’t bringing me joy.
As we get into Gemini season, we’re wrapping up the last astrological season of spring. Before we get into summer — which is full-blown action and creation time — it’s time to consider what we really want to bring forward. It’s the last bit of a strategy hive mind before executing on our big plans. How are those plans shaping up for the action-filled creation season to come?
Gemini Fast Facts
Dates: May 20 — June 21 (June 21 is the summer solstice and the official start to summer)
Element: Air. Air signs are curious, communicative, and cerebral. They ask what will help you voice your ideas, and how to think big.
Modality: Mutable sign. Mutable signs mark the end of a season (spring, in this case), and let go of the season at hand and lay the groundwork for the next season.
As the mutable air sign, Gemini prompts us to consider the big ideas we want to move forward with as we enter summer, and what we want to leave behind. Summer is hot and heavy; constantly action, and not a lot of strategizing. This is a natural chance to take stock of what we really want to create this summer.
Gemini Moon Cycles
Like I discussed in last month’s newsletter about Taurus season, we’ve entered a season where new moons are occurring at the end of astrological seasons, instead of the beginning. With moon cycles of about 28 days and astrological seasons of about 30 days, this a natural cycle and is bound to happen.
But this new type of cycles results in a shift in energy; one where we’re fresh off a new moon in the previous sign as we begin a new astrological season. This means that the energy of the previous season is more persistent in our goal and intention setting for the season ahead; it sets the tone.
So, in considering our Gemini moon cycles (and the moon cycles to come), I’ll include the final new moon in the previous season:
New moon in Taurus — Friday, May 19
Slow and reflective new moon energy + resourceful and productive Taurus energy = realistic, mindful goal and intention setting
Full moon in Sagittarius — Saturday, June 3
Actionable full moon energy + adventurous and honest Sagittarius energy = getting clear and taking action on the things that are important to you within your soul
New moon in Gemini — Sunday, June 18
Slow and reflective new moon energy + communicative and restless Gemini energy = getting the wiggles out and planning for the adventure ahead.
What are the Gemini ✨vibes?✨ What should I expect?
Gemini is a sign that’s communicative and fun, but also fickle and restless. Its archetype is the twins, which means Gemini has a dual persona, often being the two sides of the same coin. This means the energy may flip flop this season, offering opposite intentions.
Gemini is the final astrological season before we hit summer. It’s the last chance for spring cleaning before this high energy time, and the moon cycles this season reflect this. Gemini season is a time to get super clear on what matters to you deep in your soul, and what aspects of these important matters you want to endeavor to create this summer. It’s time to dance it out, to move through it so you can find full clarity.
What should I create this season?
In alignment with our creativity theme, I want to offer ideas for creation during this season — what aligns with the overall energy of Gemini, so that creating feels as full of ease as possible.
Gemini is communicative, and as a mutable sign, it’s time to wrap things up. As you figure out what to bring forward, it’s time to get honest with yourself and talk about what’s next — whether that’s with yourself or others. Here’s some ideas of what Gemini will be beneficial for:
Journaling
Discussion groups
Exploring opposites
Expressive projects like cooking, art, and writing
Organizing and spring cleaning
The moodboard I’ve put together for this season takes this into account. It combines artistic expression with communication; the vibes are energetic and ramping up for what’s to come.
Gemini Card Pull
Looking for added inspiration in the season ahead? Choose one of these cards below. (Cards are from Worthwhile Paper Co.’s Inquire Within deck).
Which card feels intuitively yours? Right or left?
Left card: Finding balance.
Balance is hard. We are constantly juggling so much, but Gemini season asks us to get clear on what actually matters. What would it look like to restore balance in your life? Like nature’s seasons, there is constant ebbing and flowing in our seasons of slowness and action. But is there anything that’s feeling especially off-kilter? Is there anything you’re holding onto that isn’t a must-do? What would balance look like if you let that go?
Right card: Notice predictable rhythms.
As humans, we have our rhythms, our routines. These can be elements we find comfort in, or it may be something we want to break out of. And sometimes, it can be both. But first, we need to notice. Not judge, but simply observe and see what the rhythms of our life are. What are we acting on intentionally, and what might be unintentional — and does it make sense to shift any of those rhythms at this moment in time?
As always, thanks for reading! I had the pleasure of writing most of this newsletter from a shaded spot at the pool in Florida 😎 I appreciate each and every single one of you, and it’s an honor to have you read words I wrote! Cheers to a sunny day for you, too.
